Heritage lovers will be delighted, as the region is full of picturesque or hilltop villages and impregnable fortresses, reflecting the turbulent history of Occitanie. These are known here as the Bastides Albigeoises, and are well worth a visit.
The castle guest houses, two character-filled guest houses in the heart of the medieval village of Milhars. The most famous of the Bastides is undoubtedly Cordes-sur-Ciel, just a stone's throw from Milhars. If you're a nature lover, get your hiking boots and discover the Bonnan valley. In summer, when the heat is on, you can relax in the swimming pool.
Guest house adjoining the owners' house, in the medieval village, with private grounds not adjoining (just a few metres from the guest house). Swimming pool built into the remains of the old ramparts to be shared with guests from the other guest house. Unheated pool: 1.40m deep in the "square" area and 60cm to 1m deep in the area below the bridge. From the outside area, a small room with a kitchenette overlooking the pool (sink, gas hob and filter coffee maker).
- Ground floor (accessible from the entrance with a few steps, or from the other side of the house): kitchen with dining table, and a second room with sitting room in front of the fireplace and dining room, storeroom.
- First floor (access via 2 staircases):
* On the first floor, there is an additional shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet. Two bedrooms (two double beds, one single bed, cot and baby equipment),
* second landing (1st floor): a large bedroom with double bed 140x190cm and wooden cot, second bedroom with double bed 140x190cm and small sitting area, a single bed 110x180cm behind the partition and bathroom with corner bath, shower, double washbasin and wc.
- Second floor: a bedroom with 2 single beds (90x190cm) and a relaxation area on the mezzanine with a sofa bed.
Please note: the swimming pool is open from June to September. Please note that these dates may vary depending on the structure.
