The gîte is housed in a stone house typical of the region, dating from before the French Revolution. It was once a wine cellar and is 3 km from the medieval village of Cordes-sur-Ciel, recently voted one of France's favourite villages, in the heart of the "Bastides albigeoises".
It's an ideal base from which to explore all these little hilltop villages, rich in history, as well as the city of Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the thousand-year-old vineyards of Gaillac.
For the more sporty, the nearby Aveyron Gorges are ideal for water sports, as is the GR 36, which crosses the Tarn from north to south. Hiking and fishing available from the guest house.
Swimming pool at Huttopia Pays de Cordes sur Ciel.
Mountain bikes and electric bikes for hire nearby.
Hot-air balloon flights from Cordes sur Ciel or Albi.
Village house with pretty garden and private covered terrace below the guest house. Garden furniture, barbecue, ping-pong.
Ground floor: living room with fully equipped open-plan kitchen (fridge, gas hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave), two bedrooms, bathroom (bath), wc. One bedroom with a double bed (140x190), the second with two pull-out beds (90x190) (possibility of combining them).
Cellar with washing machine accessible from the ground floor or outside.
Electric heating and fireplace.
Parking opposite the guest house.
Cordes-Vindrac SNCF station 2 km away (destination Toulouse 1 hour).
