A lovely nest for two in the annex of an old farmhouse, representative of traditional 19th-century regional peasant architecture. Located exactly halfway between Toulouse and Albi, this haven is classified as a "gîte de caractère" by the Occitanie region. When renovating the property, the owners wanted to create a gîte whose motto could be "simplicity is my luxury", with spacious rooms, meticulous furnishings and a warm atmosphere, while taking care to keep the decor sober, even uncluttered.
You'll be staying in the heart of the thousand-year-old Gaillac vineyards, between the village of Rabastens and the bastide town of Lisle-sur-Tarn. Nearby, you'll find the Pays de Cocagne, the Grésigne forest, the fortified villages of Penne and Puycelsi, and of course, the Episcopal City of Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010 (Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, Palais de la Berbie, home to the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum...).
On one level and independent (30 m from the owner's house, hidden by greenery), this 80 m² gîte is ideal for two people. Set in a former farm building ("estaplou", wine storehouse and bakehouse), renovated between 2006 and 2015 using traditional materials (bricks, raw earth, lime plaster, hemp, oak, etc.), it naturally offers all modern comforts. It features a large living room of over 40 m², a fully-equipped kitchen, a bedroom with 160x200cm bed, and a bathroom with walk-in shower and solar hot water.
Garden and terrace with views over the Rabastinoise countryside complete the setting: the hills just to the north and the wide Tarn plain to the south.
1 mountain bike + 2 VTC available. All charges included (including tourist tax).
