You can visit the Montans archaeological site, 800 metres from the gîte. This village near Gaillac was home to a large pottery used to make amphorae for transporting wine.
Montans is also an ideal base for visiting Albi (20 minutes away by car), Cordes-sur-Ciel, Lautrec and Lavaur (around 30 minutes). Toulouse is just 45 minutes away, and Montauban less than an hour. From the gîte, you can easily reach the motorway that crosses the Tarn.
